Anyone who fondly recollects the first time they watched Darren Aronofsky‘s psychologically thrilling turn-of-the-century adaptation of Hubert Selby Jr.’s Requiem for a Dream (or any other one of Aronofsky’s big-screen masterpieces, for that matter) is sure to appreciate this video cut to the equally mastered track ‘Peek 82454530’. Granted Aronofsky’s piecemeal editing technique had already provided a suitable foreground for Aphex Twin‘s similarly choppy computer-generated acid lines. But the two have been put together quite nicely. And if a fan of Richard D. James (1996), so much the better for it.
