Ode to Odeo

Odeo

Today, I have discovered Odeo Open Source Radio, and thanks to the cunning innovators at WordPress, I can now feature the Odeo player in my posts for fellow readers–or more specifically, listeners–to stream and enjoy.

Like YouTube only just for audio files, Odeo’s easy-to-use interface allows you to browse and search for hundreds of webcasts, music mixes, and whatever else strikes your fancy, and then listen to/download them. And for anyone who is a fan of online radio news programmes such as DemocracyNow! or can’t afford to purchase Podcasts on iTunes (I myself fall into both categories), this is a greatly welcome addition to the WP blogosphere.

Below is the COL Podcast #23, featuring the following six songs:

1. ‘Californiacation’ by Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Californiacation)

2. ‘To Me You Are a Work of Art’ by Morrissey (Ringleader of the Tormentors)

3. ‘Rebellion (Lies)’ by The Arcade Fire (Funeral)

4. ‘Inertia Creeps’ by Massive Attack (Mezzanine)

5. ‘Broken Promises’ by Placebo, with Michael Stipe (Meds)

6. ‘Stranger’ by Simple Minds (Black & White)

Happy streaming!
